Research and Inquiry at Harrison High School
This space is intended to be an online tool for inquiry based research with interactive support for student and staff research and inquiry. It is a work in progress and most likely always will be... it's a process.
WHAT IS INQUIRY:
"An inquiry approach to learning is one where students actively engage with diverse and often conflicting sources of information and ideas to discover new ones, to build new understandings, and to develop personal viewpoints and perspectives."
--Ross J. Todd ("Building Effective Inquiry Through Independent Research")
The inquiry research process may be portrayed as series of stages. For each stage of inquiry, a page has been created to provide hints, helps and organizers.
In different subject areas (English, Social Studies, Science, Math, etc.) the process, sequence, methods, purpose and products may vary but the approach and the purpose remains the same. Though inquiry you question and explore an issue, idea, or problem in order to engage, think critically , and gain and share new understanding.

Ideas: put descripton of process and image on Front Pagem, then create a Page of each step - picture on front would have links to each of the process phase pages
Specific pages connected to subjec areas of focus (or include orgaizers related to subject area with in the steps
Include dispositions, skills, self assessment, and responsibilities related to each phase....
